International Football (Soccer) Academy Tips – Achieving Your Soccer Fitness Goals

Staying on target can be difficult when you set out to train at an elite football (soccer) academy or train your own football at home. But if you have a goal in mind and take specific steps to achieve that goal, you are miles ahead of other people who do nothing but dream.

This kind of preparation makes all the difference in the world. Our international football academy coaches can always tell the difference between the players working in preparation and the players appearing in our football academies. For you, watching from the sidelines can be the difference between actually achieving your football goals.

International Football Academy Training and Conditioning

The first step is to set the goals and objectives you want to achieve in football. You can do it on a monthly basis. For example, if you are coming to your football academy in September, set a 6-month program to determine where you want to be physically.

The idea is to set realistic, measurable goals. Set your goals based on your own assessment, not your peers. You know where you are right now and you know you want to be in the best shape when you arrive to start your soccer training at the International Football Academy.

Try to improve it every week, every month. A month can consist of several fitness components: pushups, 50-yard sprints, 400-yard half pace, etc. Remember that football requires a match fit. To succeed at a high level you will need a lot of strength in both your upper and lower body and the endurance to run for 90 minutes with little rest.

You’ll get better at making goals that you know you can accomplish to gradually improve yourself. And you’ll be more likely to stay on target. You can count the number of reps you do and increase by 15 percent by the end of the month. It is realistic. A 75 percent increase in that? That’s probably not realistic.

International Football Academy Language and Culture

For international football academies with relevant academic courses, you also need to consider the language factor. If you are moving to another country with a different language, you need to work on a basic understanding of that language.

Traveling to another country to study football, language and culture will provide great experience and increase your professional marketability. Being bilingual is a clear advantage in any profession.

Set targets for both academics (linguistics) and football. If you’re going on to high school and you’re moving into an environment where you haven’t spent time speaking the language, your goal should be to arrive on day one with basic communication skills. Adapt, study, listen and speak the language as much as possible.

And most importantly, show commitment, respect and effort while studying abroad. Sometimes that extra effort is the difference between getting a passing grade or not!

Determination and perseverance

NIKE’s slogan, “Just do it,” applies nicely here. Daily personal training discipline is the most obvious key to success. It’s about what you do when no one else is. Sticking to your plan is the most important part of your preparation.

When you set a training program for yourself, it’s easy to slip when you don’t feel like training. It’s easy to say things like, “I’m too tired, so I think I’ll skip the two hours I set aside for language or education.” Or let yourself be distracted by friends or go to the movies instead of training.

This is where 95 percent of people don’t succeed: They don’t stick to the plan they set out to make. One difference between the pros and the non-builders: stick to the pro program. Only players with true grit and determination reach the top level.

Ask yourself to be that special athlete (and student) by showing utmost commitment and determination. If you have the mental discipline to fully commit, you can do it!

Training goals or objectives are easy to achieve when you are in an international football academy program. Players have less trouble sticking to a football training schedule because someone (a football coach or manager) is setting up the training program for you. Everyone around you is pushing you to perform. So do your teammates.

Attending an international football academy is more demanding than any other educational or cultural exchange program abroad. You are committed to being mentally and physically ready to participate as a footballer in the Football Development Academy. You will train daily over a period of nine months.

Keep in mind that the work starts from the day you commit to register to get maximum benefit. This means you should be prepared and ready to get the most out of your international football academy experience.
