Best of St Pete Beach Bars and Treasure Island Area Nightlife

St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island are both popular Florida vacation spots because of their beautiful beaches and year-round sunny weather. Located just outside of St. Petersburg, they are close to many of St. Petersburg’s attractions. But when it comes to nightlife, you don’t have to leave the beach. While the area is known as “fun in the sun” during the day, there are plenty of places to go out on St. Pete Beach.

Woody’s Waterfront Bar – The third of a three-bar cluster on the Blind Pass Channel, Woody’s Waterfront Bar is a longtime local favorite. Established in 1945, it is one of the oldest beach bars in the area. Known as a family restaurant, Woody’s is a great place for nightlife with entertainment from Wednesday to Sunday nights. Dining out offers a great experience as you can grab some of their signature margaritas and share a laugh with friends. The breeze from the water will cool you down instantly, even when it’s hot at night!

Ricky T’s – This is where the locals go and you can see it just by driving by – the outside area is always packed with locals ready to start their weekend early. Located on Treasure Island and minutes from Blind Pass Road connecting Treasure Island to St. Pete Beach. It is within walking distance of many Treasure Island condos and a short trolley ride from St. Pete Beach. Usually attracts a 30+ crowd.

Sloppy Pelican – It’s fun to get to on foot or by boat! Located on Blind Pass Channel, you can dock your boat and come in for a drink or dinner. Their food is quite good and much better than the typical “bar food”. They also have college nights, so young people can come and enjoy the night. Also includes live music on the deck Wednesday through Friday from 4-10pm and Saturday and Sunday from 1-10pm. Also be sure to check out their latest events – their Saturday Pub Crawl starting at 7pm and their Sunday Sunset Parties.

Gators – Located on John’s Pass on Treasure Island and just outside of Madera Beach, Gators is known for its football game viewing parties, live entertainment and bikini contests. College nights are on Mondays, but outside of that, this popular bar is frequented by locals young and old. And like the Sloppy Pelican, you can arrive on foot or by boat.

Undertow – A popular daytime beach destination (it’s located directly on the Gulf), this St. Pete beach hot spot also caters to the nighttime crowd. Spacious with an entire room full of billiards, it’s a great place to hang out with friends and walk the beach. Quiet, relaxed, locals and visitors alike love it.

Cadiz – Located on Sunset Beach between Treasure Island and St. Pete Beach, Cadiz, like Undertow, is known as one of the beach’s daytime hot spots. During the day, especially on weekends, this beach bar is crowded with 20 and under 30-year-olds, but at night, people of all ages enjoy dining, beach volleyball and live entertainment.

Filthy Phil – Another waterfront beach bar, Filthy Phil is located on Blind Pass Channel between Treasure Island and St. Pete Beach. It’s right across the street from the Sloppy Pelican, which makes it an ideal spot for some bar hopping. If you’re into karaoke, check out Filthy Phil on Tuesday nights or singer-songwriter Open Mic on Thursday nights. Also featuring live entertainment Wednesday through Sunday, Filthy Phil’s is great for family dinners and couples.

Wahoo on the Island – Located just across from Treasure Island’s famous Treasure Island Tower, Wahoo on the Island is a local and visitor favorite. Offering Karaoke Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday with a piano bar, you’ll find some quality live entertainment any night of the week with a dueling piano show on Friday and Saturday!
